A promotion video is also posted at the home page, in such a way, the question of "what is CMU Summit" can be easily answered in a appealling way

For such a time-sensitive event, agenda is another aspect that matters. People can quickly refer to this page and decide their own schedule

Speakers

When I am looking for information on a conference website, what matters most to me is who will be showing up at the event.

This section utilized some advanced CSS3 styles to emphsize the point and provide easy navigation to assist users locate their desired speaker at a user-friendly manner.

Sponsors

Sponsors are important, they provide fund that make this event possible. A comfortable level of attention on sponsors will return the favor, and also, as a part of the benefit to be the sponsor, hopefully could engage more potential sponsors.

When designing this section of the website, I try to make the sponsorship status clear and easy to read and interpret.

Contact and Social Button

Designing any website wihout considering social engagement could justify for a failure. And realing how important is this to the entire business, I made it very vivid and attractive.

Also showing this part does not mean user should always presented with this 'I am looking for social connection' look, you can easily make the homepage even more concise by just clicking "Hide This"

Local Transportation

"Local" is another keyword that gaining momentum these years, this section is specifically designed for participants of this event, detailed information including hotel, public transportation, campus commute, etc.

A google map plugin is incorporated into this page to help user navigate through the traffic. The detault location directly points to the campus location of CMU, another implicit yet necessary emphsize on the topic of the whole event.
